Meet Torey —
New Orleans native living in Houston, writer, creative strategist, journalist and artist. With over 7 years of experience in social impact and marketing and advertising, Torey has written and strategized for million-dollar campaigns that have been featured on billboards, radio stations and TV — including Houston Endowment’s partnership with the Good Reason Houston pre-K Campaign and UTHealth’s Own Every Piece women’s health campaign, featuring celebrity ambassadors DJ Supastar and Angela Yee. At the core of her work lays a passion for social behaviors and the human condition, opening people up to different perspectives and ways of thinking.
Her work features interviews and written pieces on Dr. Robert Bullard, the Father of the Environmental Justice Movement, Dr. Annie Benifield, first Black President of the League of Women Voters of Houston and Harris County Clerk, Teneshia Hudspeth.
In her free-time, you can find her cooking or baking, singing karaoke, playing guitar, reading about social behaviors, watching Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations or Padma Lakshmi’s Taste the Nation, shopping for art and oddities or tuning into yet another podcast episode of Ologies with Alie Ward.
